Illuminated Lumen Line station sign on an empty platform

// Briefing

The brief

A new line of eleven stops, platforms that are partly underground, and riders who have never used it before.

The approach

Every sign answers one question. Direction comes first, as a single large arrow. The line colour, a signal orange, runs as a light strip so a platform can be found from the street at night.

Full-size prototypes were tested on site with riders before anything was fabricated.
